BAJV / BRL have the following statement on their FB page

News - Bauxite Mining Community Advisory Group (BMCAG) established to ensure a broad range of viewpoints are heard and enable community representatives to contribute and provide feedback into the Felicitas and Fortuna bauxite projects.

The group consists of residents from Morangup, Toodyay, Wundowie, Gidgegannup, Bakers Hill, representatives from the Shires of Mundaring, Northam, the Avon Valley Environmental Society, Toodyay Friends of the River, Toodyay Naturalists Club, Bauxite Alumina Joint Ventures and Bauxite Resources Limited.
 
NOT ONE  of these representatives are community representatives as they were all chosen by BAJV / BRL for BAJV / BRL and sit in meetings that are Chaired by a so called Independent Chairperson who just so happens to be paid by BAJV / BRL to attend and control the closed door meetings.

There was no election process where community candidates were put forward, then followed by a formal vote from the community to elect these people to represent the communities that will be affected. Instead they all had to send in a type of CV and agree to a terms of reference before being accepted by the proposed miners.

The only way in which the community can truly be heard is by way of OPEN and TRANSPARENT Community meetings, which BAJV / BRL refuse to HOLD.

Don’t be fooled, the BMCAG has been set up to confuse, control and divide the community even further and is nothing more than a box ticking exercise that will be used at the EPA to help speed up the assessment process.

Apart from name, where exactly is the Community part of this group???
