To everyone who took the time to forward a submission of concern about bauxite mining being in the Toodyay Shire EDP (Economic Development Plan), THANK YOU VERY MUCH for your efforts. A total of 75 submissions were sent to the Toodyay Shire, again well done.
The Toodyay Shire Draft EDP with the submission from one resident has been sent back to the Consultants to review. This means it is not over. If all the other submissions are not going to be taken into consideration with the redraft, then for you this is not over. Council meetings are held on the fourth Tuesday of the month, starting at 4:00 pm.

Basically What Happened is:
Cr Firns moved an alternative motion to the officers recommendations as follows:
That Council:
- Defer the adoption of the DRAFT Economic Development Plan pending action under the recommendation on page 468 of the agenda in relation to submission No. 32 and any other concerns arising from the draft EDP; and
- Request the CEO to contact RPS in relation to the above.

That Council:

The decision made above, although significantly different to the Officers Recommendation, has been made to enable Council to return the item again for further consideration pending deliberation by Council in regard to a “considered” response to be provided to submissions received.
